2024 National Advocacy Event – Participate Virtually

You are invited to join ALS United Mid-Atlantic for I AM ALS’s inaugural Community Summit and third annual DC ALS Awareness Event. While in-person attendance options are now fully booked, you can still participate virtually from Wednesday, May 29 through Friday, May 31. Registration for the event may be completed HERE.

The virtual event will provide an opportunity for ALS advocates to meet, discuss, and learn from each other about important issues facing the ALS community and to develop action plans and tactics to address them. You are not going to want to miss this opportunity!

Panel discussions will feature nationally recognized speakers, including ALS United Mid-Atlantic Home Accessibility and Assistive Technology Specialist, Alisa Brownlee, ATP, CLIPP, CAPS, WSP, CEAC/Mastery (she/her). Topics include:

  • Finding Support and Taking a Break (Caregivers and people living with ALS)
  • Working within the system: Advocacy on the Inside
  • Raising Awareness and Funds My Way
  • Accessibility (hotels, public building, restaurants, planes)
  • Homecare
  • Youth and ALS
