The Phillies celebrated ALS Awareness Night, presented by Asplundh, on Monday, June 9!
Thanks to the generous support from the Philadelphia Phillies, their fans, and our sponsors for an amazing ALS Awareness Night Presented by Asplundh. With their incredible efforts, over $800,000 was raised to #StrikeOutALS.
It certainly was a night to remember at Citizens Bank Park. Before the gates opened, ALS United Mid-Atlantic and I AM ALS teamed up for a pre-game meetup by the Third Base Gate. A hundred friends and family gathered to kick off the celebration.

The on-field festivities started with an incredibly generous donation of $365,000 from Asplundh, a touching tribute to their former Chairman of the Board and CEO, Scott Asplundh, who is living with ALS. This act of kindness set a powerful tone for the night.
A deeply moving moment followed with the “ALS Lineup of Courage,” where five remarkable people living with ALS joined Phillies players and coaches on the field for the national anthem. This touching display of solidarity was truly inspiring and brought a sense of unity to the event.
Following the anthem, Kyle Schwarber and Rob Thomson made it a point to talk with those living with ALS and their families. Their genuine kindness left a lasting impression, and the families expressed heartfelt gratitude for the warmth and care shown by the Phillies players and staff.

“Our entire ALS community thanks the Philadelphia Phillies for once again going above and beyond to honor Lou Gehrig and support the fight against ALS,” said Ellyn Phillips, Board Chair Emeritus at ALS United Mid-Atlantic. “For over 40 years, the Phillies and their fans have supported the mission to strike out ALS. Through fundraising and awareness, they make it possible for ALS United Mid-Atlantic to provide the critical care programs that patients rely on every day.”
More than $23.8 million has been raised to support local ALS care and research programs since their relationship with ALS United Mid-Atlantic began in 1984.
The event was proudly supported by Grand Slam Sponsors In Memory of John Muller, Joseph and Genevieve Morrin, and Reds and Dorrie Meyers, The Klein/Tow Family, Grab Bag Sponsor Hatfield, Home Run Sponsors Cytokinetics and In Memory of Anne and Ron Krancer, and Iron Horse Sponsors BAYADA Home Health Care, BDO, Billy Lake Memorial ALS Research Fund, Conservest Capital Advisors, Ewing Cole, Farber Family Foundation, Julius and Ray Charlestein Foundation, RMG, and Kelly and Al Slipakoff & Family.
