In-Home Caregiver Assessment Resources & Education (CARE) Act of 2025
ALS United Mid-Atlantic joins coalition of New Jersey advocacy groups to proudly endorse Senator Cory Booker’s In-Home Caregiver Assessment Resources & Education (CARE) Act of 2025. Every day, families across New Jersey shoulder the immense responsibility of providing unpaid care to loved ones living with complex medical conditions, including ALS. These caregivers are crucial partners in care, yet too often they face overwhelming physical, emotional, and financial strain without adequate support.
For families impacted by ALS, where caregiving often requires around-the-clock attention, the CARE Act represents not only an investment in caregiver well-being, but also a practical approach to improving patient care, reducing isolation, and lowering stress and financial hardship. Strengthening home-based care benefits families and reduces strain on the broader health care system.
ALS United Mid-Atlantic commends Senator Booker for championing legislation that acknowledges the profound commitment of unpaid caregivers and expands the tools they need to continue providing compassionate, effective care. We are proud to join partner organizations in supporting this important initiative and urge its swift passage.
