2024 Annual Celebration Honors

the Philadelphia Phillies

The Philadelphia Phillies have led the effort to Strike Out ALS since 1984.

Thank you to everyone who joined the 2024 Annual Celebration to recognize the Philadelphia Phillies for leading the fight to Strike Out ALS. Since 1984, the Phillies have raised over $23 million for the ALS cause, ensuring that ALS patients can receive the care they need and enabling researchers to work towards new treatments and eventually a cure for this disease.

The 2024 Annual Celebration included a presentation from Asplundh, a tribute to caregiving, a visit from the Phillie Phanatic, the Flame of Hope Awards, and remarks from Mandy Bell and Sarah Langs.

The Today Show Highlights Flickering Souls ALS Art Project

Eric Brunner, creator of Flickering Souls, was a guest at the 2024 Annual Celebration.

Over the past year, Eric Brunner has used his artistic talents to bring attention to the realities of ALS. Eric is an artist and father from Philadelphia who is living with ALS. He saw art as a way to empower those affected by ALS to show the faces of those who have been impacted by the disease.

The Today Show brought national attention to Eric’s project over the Thanksgiving holiday. Now all of America can see what Eric’s work means to so many people.

Team Troy made memories at the Hershey ALS United Walk.

December 2024 Volunteers of the Month:
Marie Sanders and Team Troy

Troy Sanders’ battle with ALS came to an end on December 4, 2017, when he passed away at his home with his loving family by his side. He met each day of the disease with the determination and joy that made his wife Marie love him for so many years, and he passed on those attributes to his sons Jaden and Cameron.

Following Troy’s passing, Marie Sanders and Team Troy kept Troy in their hearts through events like the ALS United Walk and their annual golf outing. Marie is an ALS warrior, and she credits her team of family and friends with making their successes possible.
