December Volunteer of the Month: Joan Borowsky
This month, we celebrate Joan for over 25 remarkable years of dedication to ALS United Mid-Atlantic. What began as a simple statement, “I can do this job,” has grown into a lifetime of service, compassion, and advocacy for ALS families.
Throughout the years, Joan has touched the lives of thousands affected by ALS, forming lasting bonds with patients and families, from Bill Hemsing, the first patient she met in 1998, to ongoing friendships with Christine Moretti and John Russo. Her tireless efforts honor both the memories of those lost and the courage of those continuing the fight.
Even in retirement, Joan continues to attend events and actively support our mission, exemplifying her unwavering dedication to the ALS community.
We are proud to recognize Joan’s extraordinary commitment, compassion, and leadership in advancing ALS care, research, and advocacy.
