ALS United Mid-Atlantic offers a comprehensive range of caregiver resources to support those caring for people living with ALS. Caregivers play an essential role throughout the ALS journey, and our programs are thoughtfully designed to address their emotional, physical, and practical needs.
Every person living with ALS and their caregiver are paired with a dedicated social worker who provides ongoing support and guidance. Social workers help families navigate complex medical systems, plan for evolving care needs, and connect with community resources. Caregivers also receive assistance with accessing durable medical equipment, assistive technology, and home safety solutions, along with educational materials to support informed decision-making.
In addition, ALS United Mid-Atlantic hosts family-centered events and Caregiver Days that offer opportunities for rest, connection, and shared experiences. These include a Family Fun Day at Knoebels Amusement Park, an Annual Luncheon at Longwood Gardens, and Holiday Parties each December. All caregiver resources are provided free of charge, ensuring families feel supported every step of the way.
