Looking Ahead to 2026 Events: A Year of Community, Hope, and Impact

In 2026, ALS United Mid-Atlantic will once again bring our community together through a full calendar of meaningful events. Each gathering, whether a walk, ride, educational symposium, or celebration, plays an important role in supporting people living with ALS, advancing research, and strengthening advocacy efforts across our region.

These events are more than dates on a calendar. They are opportunities to connect, honor loved ones, learn from experts, and take real steps forward in the fight against ALS. Here’s a look at what’s ahead in 2026.

New Jersey Legislatures Visit

New Jersey Legislature Advances Key ALS Legislation

In a big win for the ALS community, New Jersey has passed and signed into law legislation that will strengthen how ALS and related motor neuron diseases are tracked across the state. What started as Senate Bill S4030, championed by Senators Vin Gopal and Troy Singleton, is now a legal requirement for health care professionals to confidentially report diagnosed cases of ALS to the State Health Assessment Data System.

The law, signed by Governor Phil Murphy on January 20, 2026, marks a major step forward in improving public health surveillance, expanding research opportunities, and ultimately enhancing support for people living with ALS and their families.
