Volunteer
Become a volunteer for ALS United Mid-Atlantic!
We’re looking for friendly, caring people who want to help make a difference in the fight against ALS. If you have a little time and a big heart, we’d love to have you join our volunteer community!
There are lots of ways to get involved, and we’ll help you find the best fit for your interests and schedule. You can volunteer at our events by greeting participants, helping with setup, cheering on walkers, or lending a hand wherever it’s needed. Prefer something quieter? Our office volunteers help with administrative tasks, mailings, and special projects that support our programs and keep things running smoothly.
No experience is required, just a willingness to help and a desire to support our mission. Every volunteer plays an important role, and we truly appreciate every hour you give. To learn more, please contact our Engagement Team at events@alsmidatlantic.org.
If you’re interested in making a more personal connection, consider becoming a Visiting Volunteer. Visiting Volunteers spend time with individuals living with ALS and their families, offering companionship, conversation, and support. These visits can make a big difference by bringing comfort, connection, and a friendly face to someone’s day.
For information about the Visiting Volunteer Program, please contact Regional Nurse Coordinator, Gail Gail Houseman, RN, MSN-APRN, at gail@alsmidatlantic.org.
