Looking Ahead to 2026: A Year of Community, Hope, and Impact
In 2026, ALS United Mid-Atlantic will once again bring our community together through a full calendar of meaningful events. Each gathering, whether a walk, ride, educational symposium, or celebration, plays an important role in supporting people living with ALS, advancing research, and strengthening advocacy efforts across our region.
These events are more than dates on a calendar. They are opportunities to connect, honor loved ones, learn from experts, and take real steps forward in the fight against ALS. Here’s a look at what’s ahead in 2026.
Help & Hope Symposium
The Help & Hope Symposium is a cornerstone educational event designed to inform, empower, and connect the ALS community. This annual gathering brings together leading clinicians, researchers, and care professionals to share the latest advancements in ALS treatment and research.
Attendees, including people living with ALS, caregivers, family members, and healthcare providers, will hear updates on emerging therapies, clinical trials, and promising scientific breakthroughs. In addition to educational sessions, the symposium features a vendor exhibit highlighting adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and supportive resources that enhance daily life.
Just as importantly, the symposium offers space for meaningful conversation, shared understanding, and encouragement, reminding everyone in attendance that they are not alone. For questions, please reach out to Carla Patton at Carla@alsmidatlantic.org or 215-664-4145.
ALS United Walks
The ALS United Walks are the heart of our fundraising efforts and one of the most visible ways our community comes together. Throughout the year, families, friends, coworkers, and neighbors gather to enjoy a fun, welcoming day filled with music, food, and shared purpose.
Funds raised through the walks help provide essential equipment, expert guidance, and comprehensive care services for people living with ALS throughout our service region. Whether you walk, fundraise, volunteer, or cheer from the sidelines, every participant plays a vital role.
In 2026, ALS United Walks will take place in Scranton on April 18, Seaside Heights on May 2, Hershey on June 6, Delaware on September 12, Ocean City on September 19, and Lehigh Valley on September 26. The Philadelphia ALS United Walk will return to Citizens Bank Park in Fall 2026, with the date to be announced.
Dan Diaz Biotech Annual Fundraiser
The 8th Annual Dan Diaz Biotech Breakfast Club ALS Fundraiser is an unforgettable evening of purpose, connection, and celebration. This fiesta-themed event on Thursday, May 7, at The Bucks Club, brings together community members, professionals, and supporters for a night dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the fight against ALS.
Guests will enjoy dinner, networking opportunities, and both silent and live auctions featuring exciting items and experiences. The event honors the life and legacy of Dan Diaz, whose commitment to science, advocacy, and compassion continues to inspire this gathering. Proceeds support ALS research, advocacy efforts, and vital care services.
Jersey Shore ALS United Ride
One of the most anticipated events of the year, the Jersey Shore ALS United Ride brings riders of all experience levels together for a memorable day along the Wildwood shoreline. Set against the iconic backdrop of Morey’s Adventure Piers, this one-day cycling event combines challenge, fun, and purpose.
Cyclists can choose from four route options, including a Metric Century (100 KM), Metric Half-Century (50 KM), Metric Quarter Century (25 KM), or a 6-mile family-friendly ride. For 2026, riders in the 100 KM, 50 KM, or 25 KM routes register as Fundraising Riders with a $75 registration fee and a $250 fundraising requirement. The 6-mile ride has a $75 registration fee.
Early Bird discounts will be available from January through March, and riders living with ALS or participating virtually may register at no cost.
Roger Kirk ALS United Golf Outing
On October 5, golfers will gather for the 13th Annual Roger Kirk ALS United Golf Outing, hosted by Greg Gross. Held at the beautiful Old York Road Country Club, which was a place close to Roger’s heart, making it a fitting setting for a day filled with camaraderie, reflection, and impact.
Golfers, sponsors, and supporters come together to honor Roger’s legacy while raising funds that help sustain care services and research efforts. The event reflects the deeply personal nature of the ALS fight, a reminder that behind every diagnosis is a story, a family, and a community determined to make a difference.
ALS United Mid-Atlantic Annual Celebration
The event calendar concludes in November with the ALS United Mid-Atlantic Annual Celebration, a warm and inspiring evening dedicated to recognizing the people and partners who make this work possible. The celebration features the presentation of the Flame of Hope Awards and provides an opportunity to reflect on the progress made throughout the year.
The 2026 Annual Celebration will take place on Friday, November 13, at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia, bringing the community together to close the year with gratitude and hope.
