ALS United Mid-Atlantic is grateful for the generous grant from the Mushroom Festival! The grant was presented to Director of Development, Donna Cleary, at a dinner this week hosted by the Festival Board. Proceeds from the famous annual Mushroom Festival held in Kennett Square support non-profits serving Chester County.
The Mushroom Festival has been a valued partner in ALS United Mid-Atlantic’s mission of providing care services for people living with ALS in Chester County for over a decade. Tragically, one of the Mushroom Festival’s founders, Ro Ro Ferranto died of ALS in 2016. Her daughter, Gale Ferranto, continues Ro Ro’s legacy serving as Festival Coordinator and is president of Buona Foods, Inc., a mushroom farm founded by her mom in 1975.
This year, the festival is celebrating its 40th anniversary. ALS United Mid-Atlantic Community Ambassadors Amy Berg and Gary Goldstein, both residents of Chester County, wanted to share some extra words of gratitude and congratulations. Watch their message below.
