Named Funds
The Wes Rose Fund
Established in 2018 to honor the extraordinary life and contributions of Dr. Raymond Wesley Rose, III. Loving husband of Kelly and father of their sons, Nathan and Aidan, Wes was diagnosed with ALS in May 2005. Within a month he became involved with ALS United Mid-Atlantic, serving on the Board of Directors as a member of the Research, Public Policy and Care Services Committees.
An Assistant Professor of Biology at Arcadia University and beloved by his students and peers, Wes received the prestigious Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching in 2011. An effective spokesman for ALS United Mid-Atlantic and the ALS cause, Wes had the ability to translate complicated scientific information into layman’s terms, and combined the power of his personal story with a clear understanding of complex issues to engender support from lawmakers in Harrisburg and on Capitol Hill.
