This month, ALS United Mid-Atlantic is proud to recognize Hatfield Quality Meats and their employees as our November Volunteers of the Month. The team at Hatfield Quality Meats has shown incredible dedication, kindness, and consistent support for the Philadelphia ALS United Walk, and the ALS community.
Since 2004, the team at Hatfield has shown what it means to give back through volunteering, donating, and sponsoring ALS United events as part of their commitment to community service. They’ve combined generosity and hands-on involvement to make a lasting difference for people living with ALS and their families.
“We’ve learned so much about the strength and resilience of people living with ALS,” Diana Alfano, Promotions Manager at Clemens Food Group, shared. “It’s eye-opening to see how much support and awareness can really make a difference. The biggest lesson for us is that showing up matters – whether you’re walking, fundraising, or just spreading the word, every bit helps.”
Hatfield Quality Meats serves as a presenting sponsor for the Philadelphia ALS United Walk and their enthusiasm in promoting the event and attending the walk is contagious.
“It’s such an amazing experience,” Diana said. “The energy is so positive and inspiring – you can really feel the love and community. Walking together as Team Hatfield makes it even more special because we see firsthand how our collective efforts bring hope and connection to so many.”
Hatfield encourages others to get involved in the ALS community because they know firsthand how powerful it can be.
“It’s one of those things that gives back more than you expect,” said Diana. “Volunteering for the ALS community has shown us how strong we are when we come together. You meet incredible people, become part of something bigger than yourself, and know that you’re helping move us closer to a cure. It’s truly rewarding.”
When asked about their favorite memory from the Philadelphia ALS United Walk, Diana didn’t hesitate:
“Seeing all the teams come together at the start – the signs, matching shirts, and cheers – it’s emotional in the best way. You can really feel the impact of what everyone’s doing.”
Each year, Hatfield employees rally around the Philadelphia ALS United Walk with excitement and compassion. Between fundraising and spreading awareness, the team embodies the true meaning of community spirit.
“The Walk brings everyone together for such a great cause,” Diana said. “It’s something we look forward to every year – a day that fills us with purpose and pride.”
