From Caregiver’s Days to Holiday Parties and family outings, our events provide opportunities for connection, support, and cherished memories across our Mid-Atlantic service region.

Family Events for People Living With ALS

ALS Family Outing at Longwood Gardens on Saturday, June 28, 2026

The ALS Family Outing to Longwood Gardens is an annual event held in Kennett Square, PA, offering people with ALS and their families the opportunity to enjoy the breathtaking sights, sounds, and seasonal floral displays of Longwood Gardens.

During the event, ALS United Mid-Atlantic hosts a catered lunch, creating time for families to connect with one another and engage with our social workers and staff nurses in a relaxed, supportive environment.

ALS Family Fun Day at Knoebels Amusement Park

ALS United Mid-Atlantic invites people living with ALS and their families to enjoy a memorable Family Fun Day at Knoebels Amusement Park.

Families are treated to:

  • A free lunch
  • Time to connect with other ALS families
  • A booklet of tickets for rides and games throughout the park

This event allows families to relax, have fun together, and create lasting memories.

Holiday Parties for ALS Families

People living with ALS and their families are invited to attend one of ALS United Mid-Atlantic’s Holiday Parties, held annually in Hershey, PA, and Philadelphia, PA. Each year, hundreds of individuals attend this festive and meaningful celebration.

Holiday Party activities include:

  • A delicious meal
  • Crafts and games
  • Entertainment and face painting
  • Family-friendly activities for all ages

Caregiver’s Days

Caregiver’s Days are hosted throughout the ALS United Mid-Atlantic service region to recognize and support the vital role caregivers play in the ALS journey. For more information, please reach out to Carla Patton and Michelle Rogers at events@alsmidatlantic.org.

Planned in collaboration with our experienced social workers and nurses, Caregiver’s Days offer activities designed to promote relaxation, education, and connection. Past activities have included:

  • Breakfast and social time
  • Card games
  • Equipment demonstrations
  • Flower workshops
  • Lamp-making activities

Each Caregiver’s Day provides caregivers with the opportunity to recharge, learn, and connect with others who understand the unique challenges of caring for someone living with ALS.
