On a beautiful Saturday, May 3, friends and family gathered at the Seaside Heights Boardwalk for the ALS United Walk.
Hosted by ALS United Mid-Atlantic, the Seaside ALS United Walk brought together over a hundred people, all united in support of those affected by ALS. Together, walk teams raised an incredible $46,000 to benefit local ALS care services and crucial research efforts.
The day kicked off with teams gathering to take photos, picking up their t-shirts, and adding personal notes of love and support to their ALS United Walk signs. During the Opening Ceremony, Tony Heyl, ALS United Mid-Atlantic’s Director of Communications and Public Policy, shared some uplifting words about the importance of the event in funding local care services.

As the ceremony wrapped up, ALS United Mid-Atlantic took a moment to celebrate the Champions United Club members, who each raised over $1,000, along with the top three fundraising teams and individuals.

Team Walking on Sunshine had the special honor of officially kicking off the 2025 Seaside ALS United Walk with a cheerful ribbon-cutting ceremony. Their team walked in support of Judy Mueller, who was surrounded by her loving family and friends.

As participants strolled along the boardwalk, they took time to snap photos, share heartfelt memories of loved ones, and even have a moment with Buster, the BlueClaws’ mascot.

“The 2025 Seaside ALS United Walk was a truly moving experience! It was heartwarming to see everyone come together to honor those living with ALS and remember those we’ve lost,” expressed Kerry Braun, Director of Corporate & Community Engagement. “On behalf of everyone at ALS United Mid-Atlantic, I want to extend a huge thank you to every participant, donor, sponsor, and volunteer. Your support means the world!”
The event was proudly sponsored by Hackensack Meridian Health, Jersey Shore BlueClaws, Pepsi, AC Photo, CheeseSteak Louie’s, Silver Bay Bagels, and the Borough of Seaside Heights.
