Staff Spotlight: Kate Adamek, LCSW

Kate Adamek, LCSW, has been a dedicated consultant for ALS United Mid-Atlantic for nine wonderful years. As a social worker, Kate brings warmth and compassion to every interaction, always going above and beyond to support people with ALS and their families.

When someone with ALS reaches out to ALS United Mid-Atlantic, they are welcomed with genuine kindness from a social worker. This caring first step helps ease worries, and over time, these connections blossom into lasting, meaningful friendships. As trust grows, Kate is always there with a listening ear and a helping hand—guiding families through care planning, navigating entitlements, and offering heartfelt support, so they truly feel heard, understood, and never alone.

Kate not only supports families in the Delaware area but also serves as the facilitator for the Delaware ALS Resource Group. This group is a warm space where people with ALS and caregivers can receive information, connection, and support.

Kate visits with Ray Menzel and his wife, Carol.

ALS United Mid-Atlantic is grateful for everything Kate has done to support people with ALS and their families.
