Staff Spotlight: Kerry Braun

Kerry’s journey with ALS United Mid-Atlantic is a story of dedication, passion, and an unwavering commitment to making a difference. She began her work with the organization as an Engagement Manager in 2015, supporting walks in Philadelphia and Hershey, as well as the annual bike ride in Wildwood, NJ. From the very beginning, she was deeply invested in creating events that not only raised vital funds but also fostered connection, community, and hope for those living with ALS.

After a year away from the organization, Kerry realized just how much she missed being part of the mission. Touched by the people she met and inspired by the stories they shared, she found herself returning to ALS United Mid-Atlantic with fresh energy and determination. Her dedication quickly led her to the role of Director of Corporate and Community Engagement, where Kerry now oversees the overall strategy and execution of the organization’s events. In this role, she has become a driving force behind engaging volunteers, corporate partners, and community members, ensuring every event reflects the heart and mission of the organization.

In 2020 and 2021, Kerry was instrumental in navigating the shift from in-person events to online and hybrid formats. The pandemic posed unprecedented challenges for keeping the community connected, but Kerry approached the situation with vision and perseverance. She developed engaging experiences that allowed participants to remain involved and connected to the cause, ensuring the spirit of the events endured. In 2021, she personally joined the annual bike ride virtually with her family, setting an example of dedication and inspiring others to participate despite the physical distance.

One of the defining moments of her career came in 2023, when she took on the formidable task of rebranding ALS United Mid-Atlantic’s walk program and other major events, including the bike ride, golf outing, and annual luncheon. Kerry approached the challenge with thoughtful planning, creativity, and an eye for detail. Thanks to her leadership, the rebranded events were a resounding success, receiving praise from attendees who noticed and appreciated the fresh, enhanced experiences. Her ability to guide the organization through change while keeping the focus on the community and mission speaks to her remarkable talent and dedication.

Her journey with ALS United Mid-Atlantic is marked by leadership, passion, and an unshakable commitment to the people and cause she serves. In recognition of her outstanding contributions, she will be promoted to Director of Development in January, where she will continue to shape the organization’s growth, deepen relationships with donors and partners, and drive initiatives that make a meaningful impact in the fight against ALS. Her story is a testament to the power of following one’s passion, staying true to a mission, and leading with both heart and vision.
