ALS United Mid-Atlantic FY2024 Impact Report
We are pleased to present our Impact Report for Fiscal Year 2024.
Despite some transitional challenges, we can proudly report that our organization’s commitment to provide exemplary services to people living with ALS and their families remains unchanged and is as strong as ever.
In this Impact Report, we highlight the three main areas of our mission: comprehensive care and support; advocacy; and research.
ALS United Mid-Atlantic’s Care Services team continues to shine in its delivery of compassionate, specialized care for those living with ALS and their families. Our staff meets people where they are, ready to give assistance at any time throughout the journey.
The advocacy efforts of our team and a host of dedicated volunteers, including people living with ALS, have established a solid relationship with state and federal legislatures. We are fortunate to have multiple champions who have supported the ALS community financially and through legislative action.
With our independence as ALS United Mid-Atlantic, we can now make our own decisions regarding the investment of research dollars. Using, in part, research-restricted dollars given in FY2024 but accrued during our transition, the Board recently approved ALS United Mid-Atlantic’s first research awards to the following organizations: ALS Therapy Development Institute; Penn Comprehensive ALS Center; ALS Center of Hope at Temple University; The ALS Clinic and Research Center at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center; and the Jefferson Weinberg ALS Center.
All the critical work referenced above not be possible without the generous donors listed in these pages. Whether you are personally touched by ALS, or simply understand the urgency of this cause, we thank you for your support. It means that ALS United Mid-Atlantic can continue to serve the ALS community during the most difficult times of their lives.
With our sincerest gratitude,
Jeffrey W. Cline
